Privacy Policy — Renewell

This Privacy Policy explains how the Renewell app ("the App"), published by Pony That Limited ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information. In short: Renewell keeps your subscription data on your device. We do not have accounts or servers that collect your data, we do not use trackers, and we do not collect or sell your personal data.

What we collect

Subscription data (stored on your device). The subscriptions you enter, including names, amounts, currencies, billing cycles, renewal dates, categories, trial and introductory pricing, notes, price-change history, and your app settings, are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. A small snapshot of your next renewals and monthly total is shared with the App's Home Screen widget through a private app container on your device. None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party.

No bank or card connection. Renewell does not connect to your bank, card, or any financial account. It does not read your transactions, receipts, or App Store purchase history. Everything in the App is information you typed in yourself.

No account. Renewell does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or any personal identifiers to use it.

No analytics or tracking. The App does not include advertising, third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Exchange rates

Renewell makes exactly one kind of outbound request. To show subscriptions billed in other currencies in a single display currency, it downloads a public exchange-rate table from Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev), an open-source, keyless service that publishes central bank reference rates. The request contains no personal data and no information about your subscriptions. The response is a public rates table that is identical for everyone who asks for it, so it reveals nothing about you. As with any internet request, Frankfurter's servers can see your IP address, and their handling of that is governed by their own terms. iOS may occasionally run this same request in the background so your rates and reminders stay current. You can also enter your own exchange rates manually in Settings.

Notifications

Renewell can send local notifications, for example a reminder before a subscription renews, a warning before a free trial ends, and a daily or weekly digest of what is coming up. These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device, and their contents never pass through a server. There are no push notifications and no push token. Notifications are optional and can be turned off in the App or in iOS Settings.

Widget

The Home Screen widget reads a small snapshot of your upcoming renewals and monthly total from a private container shared between the App and the widget on your device. Nothing in that snapshot leaves your device. Note that widget contents are visible to anyone who can see your Home Screen or Lock Screen.

Backup and export

Because nothing syncs to a server, Renewell lets you export your subscriptions to a JSON file so you can move them to a new device, and import that file back again. You choose where the file is saved, using the standard iOS file picker. Once you have saved or shared that file, it is outside the App and subject to whatever you chose, for example iCloud Drive or another app. We never receive a copy of it.

Purchases

Renewell is free and contains no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

How your data is used

Because your subscription data stays on your device, we do not access, analyse, or use it. It exists only to power the App's features for you: your list, your totals and forecasts, and your reminders.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only third parties involved in the App's operation are Apple, which provides the App Store and the operating system services the App runs on, and Frankfurter, which serves the public exchange-rate table described above.

Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual subscriptions within the App, or remove all of the App's data, including the widget snapshot and your settings, by deleting the App from your device. Backup files you exported yourself are not affected by this and must be deleted wherever you saved them.

Children's privacy

Renewell is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.

Renewell tracks the subscriptions you enter yourself. It is not connected to your bank or card, cannot cancel a subscription for you, and its totals and forecasts are estimates, not financial advice.
